LEADERSHIP



GOOD LEADERSHIP

According to Peter Townsend, "No TWO LEADERS are ALIKE. LEADERSHIP is UNIQUE in EACH PERSON. NEITHER SCIENCE nor FORMULA can produce a leader; LEADERSHIP is a MATTER of CHARACTER!"

LEADERSHIP is a process of influence between a leader and his followers to attain group, organizational, and societal goals.

LEADERSHIP STYLES

  • Aristocratic is a leadership styles who dominates team members to achieve a singular objectives. It is more "ONE-WAY'. For example, king and queen style and military.
  • Democratic is a leadership style who encourages participation and delegates wisely. There is interaction between the leader and follower.
  • Laizzes Faire is a leadership style who exercises little control, leaving them to sort out their risks and tackle their work. There is a little control from the leader.
  • Situational is a leadership style which suggested that traits required of a leader differed according to varying situations. This style believes that effective leadership had everything to do with such factors as the flow of events and the circumstances surrounding the group.
Furthermore, there are four stages of Situational Leadership Style.
  • Directing Stage that gives directions to all the follower and other concerns.
  • Coaching Stage that aims the follower to improve.
  • Supporting Stage that enable everyone to make final and affirmative decisions.
  • Delegating Stage that enable the leader to give additional task to the follower and other concerns.
